Bittersweet

Well, as most of you know, this is the last issue of Country Home magazine. It is also the first (and subsequently the last) issue that I was able to contribute a project to. I had hoped to continue to make contributions for the cool junk section.

These are some candleholders I make from pepper grinders. Nothing earth shattering, but something I came up with because I rarely find baulesters to use for candleholders. The ones pictured are ones I sent them, they added the tacks and leafing (which I really like). Country Home found me via my blog (yea for blogging!). Everyone I talked to and worked with was very sweet, especially Kelly. I just hope that they were able to find other positions in the magazine world. So if you get a chance--check it out.

  2. So cool!! I now know ( well sort of...well maybe not really:-)) a celebrity! Now you may ask what makes you a celebrity? You are in what used to be my favorite magazine of course!

  6. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It is nice to meet you. I am going to miss "Country Home", it was one of my favorites. I may have contributed to their demise. I think of reading all my favorite blogs as the magazines I read! There are so many ideas in "blogland". There just wasn't enough time to read everything.

  8. THAT is so cool you were in the magazine, but bites that this is the last issue! Several magazines I had subscriptions to have ceased publications this year. Very disappointing!

  14. Great Project! I too am sad about the fate of Country Home. There is nothing better than sitting in my morning chair with a cup of coffee and a good magazine. A laptop just doesn't feel the same. I am sure you will have other opportunities. Your creativity won't go unnoticed!
    Peace,
    Ki

  21. I will miss Country Home, this is the 2nd magazine I have subscribed to that has gone. Both the magazines are substituting other magazines but the others have more recipes less home decor. I love magazines but I guess they will be becoming rare, sad.

  22. What a neat opportunity for you!! How awesome to see your creations!! I am so sorry the magazine is no long going to be available.
What a clever idea to you the pepper shakers! I never would have thought. Gosh I see those a whole lot more at thrift stores, then even a glimpse of a cute table leg or post. :o) Now I really need to keep my eyes open on my trips thrifting! :o)
