My First Linky Party--Please Join Me!

Thanks for joining me for my 1st Linky Party. I have a prize for one of you for joining--I will tell you about that in a minute. Why have a linky party? Because you can go to one blog and find several great ideas in one location, it brings like minded people together, and helps increase blog visits. And, I will feature some of your projects on Monday, which will bring more people to your blog.

Beyond The Picket Fence

I decided that this blogging year would include my sharing 100 ideas under $100 (I love that magazine). And then it dawned on me that you all have wonderful ideas under $100 too, and I wanted to see them, thus a linky party. I plan on hosting one every Thursday, so tell your bloggin' friends to join the fun.

Rules, yes there are a few rules, I am a teacher after all.

1. Please include a description in your link post.
2. Only post an idea that cost $100 or less--it would be great if you tell us the cost of your project, but not a must.
3. Please link to the specific post, not to your blog.
4. Please grab my 100 ideas under $100 button on the side bar and include it in your post so people can find us.
5. Check and make sure your link works--I often click on people's links and they don't work. If it doesn't, try again--you can let me know and I can delete the one that doesn't work--I don't know if you can.

I am sharing a simple idea--cost maybe $2-$3 and doesn't involve junk, unusual for me. My sister needed new coasters. I made her some five years ago, decoupaged tiles. She has since changed her decor and has also mentioned that the problem with the tile coasters is that when your glass sweats the coaster doesn't absorb the moisture.
Last night I pulled out some felt and came up with these. They are 3 layers of felt. I used chalk to draw the leaf shapes on the top piece and then cut them out. I sewed around the edges first and then around the leaf shapes. And I have a set for one of you who links up for my first party. I will draw a name on Monday and ask what colors you want. So thanks for joining me--I can't wait to see what you have to share.

  13. Hey Becky! Thanks for the Heads up on your linking party! I'll be back! I am adding your button to my "Find me here page! It's where I list all the linking parties I participate in. My readers love seeing where else they can link so I'm sure they pop on over! I don't post linking buttons on my specific posts because I print off my blog each year in print and want to keep posts button free for editing purposes. Hope you understand!
