Wooly Heart Tutorial

Project 4 is quick and easy and will cost about $3. I started with this wool sweater from the thrift store. I washed it in hot water and dried it in the dryer.
Next I cut strips from the sweater and cut those into squares. I am saving the patterned part of the sweater for another project.
I shaped a heart (size about 5 x 6 inches) out of wire. I didn't have very heavy gauge wire, this is 19 gauge so I doubled it up. I wire hanger would work, but I have a "NO WIRE HANGERS!" rule.
Thread the wool squares onto the wire. If it is doubled up, thread it onto the closed wire end.
When the heart is full, twist the wire ends together.
I added a ribbon and voila--except the sweater washing, the project took about 20 minutes.

  11. That is awesome!! I made something similar in a circle for Christmas. I just used fleece instead of buying a sweater. It works too! :)
