Belted Tray

I tried to come up with a clever title--bad news, it is not happening.  The good news--my belt inspiration continues (see my other ideas here).  I started with this familiar looking pile:
Slapped a little paint on the frame,
and a little stain.
I laid some belts out on the back piece of the frame (it is wood, very solid).
Glued them with some E6000 and weighted them down with a book and weights.
Put it all together, added belt handles to create a great tray (and no, I don't eat my Girl Scout cookies with a fork, but it looked better).  I used saddle soap on the belts to protect the leather.

  7. Great use for arm weights! I've switched to a kettlebell and didn't know what to use them for. Although the belts aren't something I thought would be my style, I love the finished tray and could see it in my living room.

  8. Love, love, love this!!! What a great use for old leather belts. The tray is fabulous! I'm definitely bookmarking this. I think it has a wonderful masculine look and would be a fun gift for Father's Day....served with breakfast in bed.
    Thanks for the inspiration!
