Toolbox Transformation

Picked up this toolbox at a garage sale.  It came with some fun goodies inside that will be used in future projects.  No before picture, but imagine a plywood box.  A quick sanding, some yellow and then grey paint, more sanding and stain  transformed a simple plywood box into a great side table.
I added 4x4 legs stained dark to give it a more table-like look.
I love the compartments inside--I painted it yellow.
A fun piece that will head to the Prairie Sisters show this weekend.

  1. Becky, I have almost the same box although mine already had paint on it but needed a major cleaning (LOTS of icky grime). All I did to mine was stamp our house numbers "5023" on the front bottom corner or it. It sits proudly on a bookshelf by the front door and I love it every time I pass by it : )

  7. Very nice texture. I have a thing for boxes and this one reminds me of the one I sold to a customer. I sure do hope I come by something like this box at garage sales this summer. Thanks for sharing your great work.
