Happy Sunday! If you ever spent any time in Sunday school as a kid, you probably can sing this verse, But when I was young, I sure didn't apply it much to my life. When things got tough or confusing and unclear or I was unsure I would (and sometimes still do) talk to friends, worry, turn to other things rather than opening up my "life guide"--the Bible. The Bible is God talking to us and it isn't meant to confuse us or leave us in the dark. The Bible is meant to light our paths, show us which way to go, guide and direct us. But, here is the key that seems tough--we have to open it, read it, pray about it, meditate on it, and apply it! When life seems uncertain, when you stumble, when the way gets hard and dark, go to His Word-- the source to light and direct the way.
A hubby who will find free old fencing on Craigslist, hurry to its location to grab it before it is all gone, haul home 5 sections and take them all apart is a good hubby! And I am thankful every day to be married to a good man who supports what I do. Old cedar fencing makes the best signs and small items like these fun "frames".
Happy Sunday! I am almost scared to turn on the news anymore. We are living in tough and tumultuous times. Top what is going on the world with what is going on in our own lives--sicknesses, bad marriages, problems with our kids and jobs--and it is enough to make us want to run and hide. But, instead of hiding under a rock, we need to remember to run to the Rock--God. A rock is unchanging, strong, solid. When you feel like you are standing on shifting sand and crumbling ground, when nothing feels safe and solid in your world, remember, God has got this, He is our Rock and Defender.
Happy Sunday! When I took this picture while hiking, I didn't even see the different ways the light was reflecting off the water. But, when I looked at the photo in a different medium (through the computer) I saw the scene differently. This week I am reminded once again how much we are failing to see the image of God in others. We are failing to look at ALL people with love, failing to see the good in others, and we are failing to let others SEE God by simply loving them. We have got to see love first and show love first--love before being right, love before differences, love before anger. When we lead with love, when we make the conscious choice to let love prevail, we will see and share Jesus and lives will change.
Happy Sunday! Freedom--we are free in Christ, or at least we are supposed to be. But, how many of us are still living in bondage? We are slaves to worry and fear, slaves to hate and anger, slaves to guilt and bitterness. Fully accepting God's gift of forgiveness and unconditional love should set us free from all of these negative things. When we realize and believe how much God loves us we will experience real freedom, the kind that only Jesus can give. Today, live in and enjoy the freedom that Christ gave us on the cross.
