Dump Wood Love

I spied this wood one day by a church, in a pile.  Living in a small town and having taught here for nearly 20 years has its advantages, one of them being I almost always know someone to call for a connection.  So I rang up a friend that attends church there and asked if she knew anything about the junky wood pile.  She said it was some thing or another that they had torn out and it was headed to the dump.  Well, saved them a trip to the dump, or at least hubby did.
I got 1 large sheet of painted plywood, and several 2 x 6's..  I saw a few hints of what was under the standard barn red paint and knew it was meant to be a table top.  So starting with a simple rectangle made from 2 x 6's (not from the dump pile, from the swing set)., I came up with this sofa/buffet table (it is a little larger than a standard sized sofa table)..

Love the turquoise that came through with the sanding and the wood grain that showed up with the stain.  My kids want me to keep it, but it is at our holiday junk fest for sale.
