What helped me was ...I feel your pain (literally). What helped me was a simple stretch and good shoe inserts. Do the stretch sitting down, your bad foot crossed on your lap, (like how guys sit) pull on your toes with one hand and rub the arch of your foot with the other. Everyday icing and stretching and never going barefoot. Keen shoes help with lots of support. I am just getting to walk again here in wyoming. How wonderful that you are able to hike! I used to love hiking, we are planning on starting with our kids this summer (which will keep the pace easy, too, as I have gained so much weight in the last 10 years, ugh!).
