From DVD Storage to Storage Coat Hook

I took an old DVD tower (I wish I would have taken a before picture) and turned it into a wall storage bin. Sorry pictures were quick ones before loading for show.

It originally had a pedestal base and an arched piece on the top shelf and was a lovely dated shade of golden oak.  I knocked off the base and arched piece and painted it white. It did stand vertically in its original state.

I added some chalkboard pieces (I painted these on some bead board pieces I had) and some hooks.

Heavy duty D rings on the back to hang it up was all it took to transform this dated piece into a useful piece with storage.

Another Island

I made ANOTHER island for the show I did this past weekend.  This one was made out of pallet boards.

It was a quick build as these pallet pieces were all in good shape and I made very few cuts.

After painting and staining it came the fun part--adding the extra elements.  I painted a chalkboard on a cupboard door and added it to the front.

A metal mailbox makes a great place for cookbooks, salt and pepper, oil and vinegar.

A towel bar made from a chair spindle,

a hook and church pew clip complete the island.

Seeing Stars

A few years back I made this star:

And then I came up with this idea:

I screwed the belts at the points (I forgot to erase the chalk lines before the pictures, but did before I sold them.).

This one is on is on a cupboard door--part of my reclaimed wood stash.  It will be used in a home similar to a Ronald McDonald Home in Missoula, MT.

I also made one on some reclaimed barn wood I joined together.

Love the very Montana, western belt across the middle.

Yee-Haw!

Washtub Wheelies

I took a washtub and added some wheels (these are more of the free ones I got off of pallets),

a wood top that I pieced together from my reclaimed wood pile. 

I joined the top together after I cut the pieces into a circle with a jigsaw.

It rolls so well I told the customer who bought it that she could take it down the driveway and do wheelies with it.

P.S.  My daddy took this picture back in the 70's.

Colorful Seat

I took an old, outdated upholstered seat and back chair, and added a little color.

I painted the chair white and used scrap pieces of wood painted in fun colors to "reupholster" it.

This is what the back of it looks like.

I attached the wood with a nail gun.

Fresh and new.  Behind it is another scrap wood window art I did in matching colors.

Magazine Pallet Table

I am running out of names for all of my pallet projects.  This one is made with two small pallets.

I took the underside pieces off of one of them and then joined the two together in the middle by screwing screws at an angle on the inside.

I added extra pieces to fill in the top and bottom.

These great wheels I got free from a pallet pile--I did ask to make sure I could have them.

I painted it white and stained it all (not easy to get to those inside pieces). I love useful furniture with storage.
