Here are a few bulletin boards I did. The frame on the black and tan board cost me only 25 cents. I have another one of these frames too. I did paint it black. The red one uses a vintage tablecloth. This is a great way to use up those holey vintage linens you might have.

Here is another window with handmade paper behind it. I painted the red on the frame, without sanding it or priming it. Then I was using the hose to wash the window, after I had painted the red. Some of the red came off. I liked the way it distressed it and was much easier than sanding (I hate sanding!!). And here is a window with old reader pictures on it.

I have shown lots of chalkboards, but thought I'd show one more because it shows the candle wax paint technique well.

This ginormous bird house did not turn out like I wanted at all. When I was figuring out my dimensions for the roof, I forgot to add the trim wood that I put all on the outside. The shutter roof ended up not having an over hang like I wanted. Oh well, live and learn. I call it a bird/doghouse (birdhouse for a condor maybe!). It is great for potato or onion storage (never store the two together--onions make your potatoes sprout!), or newspapers or blankets.

Happy Day!
As always, I love all your creations! I was wondering if you could tell me how you attached the reader pages to the glass. I have an old window I am wanting to put some pictures in but am unsure how to do it without some sort of adhesive showing. Do you mind sharing how you do it? I would really appreciate it. You can find me email link on my blog. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThat is so great I will have to try it out. Thank you for the ideas!!
ReplyDeleteGirl you stay busy - Nice job on everything.. My personal favorite is the house... and the red frame..and I am sure I can go on! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love all your things (as usual). I really appreciate the fact you tell us what things are being sold for. I am in Western NY and no one sells bed benches or many of the things others find commonplace. Perhaps that is why I can pick bed frames, windows, shutters etc all off the curbs. One day I may have to start selling, as its getting a little crowded around here. hahahaha
ReplyDeleteKeep those projects coming, I love them all.
Sandy
Your projects always turn out great!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that you could give me exact details on the candle wax technique. I've tried it before but I got frustrated with the results...maybe I was doing something wrong.
Have a wonderful day!
Such a great blog! I love all of your ideas! I'd like to put a link to your blog on my blog, if that's ok?!
