I need a mantle--didn't happen when the house got built (6years ago), but haven't decided what I want. The only time I really think about it is at Christmas. I used antique bronze upholstery tacks to hang the stockings on.
These cream stockings are what I call my "decorative stockings". My kids usually use these stockings on Christmas Eve that my mom made for them for their first Christmases.

You are so crafty! And the use of curtain clips is clever!! I didn't even notice there was no mantel until I read it. I hope your kids cherish the stockings made by your mom. I know I cherish the ones that my grandmother made for us.
ReplyDeleteLove your stockings and the curtain clips are genius! Andrea
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater stockings. Smart way to hang them.
ReplyDeleteThis is a terrific idea! I don't have mantle, so I am always looking for great ways to hang up stockings. And I love the sweater stockings- where they hard to sew without them getting bulky?

Oh yeah. I am loving the sweater stockings. Holler if you have more you wanna sell to me. I really like the look. And indeed, you have no mantle! I'm not sure who is worse off...you without, or me with something I don't like.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI've just seen your blog for the first time and share common interests with you including your faith.
I saw that you LOVE magazines and I can't agree with you more. My favorites are Romantic Country and Cottage Style, which no longer exists.
I would love for you to visit my new blog. I just plunged in and started this first blog last week and I am meeting so many of you fantastic ladies and being inspired by each of you.
Merry Christmas
ANDREA
