When I grabbed this piece of lovely, warped, gouged, and imperfect slab of barn wood out of a pile I knew it would make a lovely sofa table top.
The construction was easy--I added some long front apron pieces to some 2x8's.
A shelf on the bottom helps to sturdy and square up the table and is a great place for baskets.
I secured the top from the underside. A sanding, some grey paint on the legs and apron, and stain finished the look.
I love the scratches and dings on the table top and the beautiful, aged wood patina.
A simple build for a versatile table--this works wonderfully behind a sofa, in an entry, as a buffet in the dining room, even the dog approves. Does reclaimed wood speak to you?
Not only am I sharing this table, but I'd also like to share a few of my favorite bloggers. Grab a cup of tea and take a few minutes (or more!) to visit them and say hi!
you could fit that round an ugly radiator then it would be even more practical xxx
ReplyDeleteI wish my wood talked to me also...
