Ah husbands, they can be so helpful, right? Mine is a great supporter of what I do. He helps provide some muscle when I need it, he brings home pallets and other reclaimed wood, and sometimes he drags home furniture for me.
And sometimes it is decent, but he has the style sense of well, of someone who has no style. And sometimes what he drags home is less than desirable. Such was the case with this little end table.
He is a high school principal and as such he attends a lot of events, one being an auction for the choir group. This was the first year they had an auction and I think they used garage sale type items for the auction. He sent me several pictures of things that I said a BIG FAT NO to. Finally he quit sending me pictures and apparently made the decision on his own to bid $1 on this end table. He won it.
I completely took the table apart. I didn't want the wood buttons on the top and those holes are too difficult to fill, so I flipped the top over.
What was the bottom became the apron and I straightened out the legs rather than having them at the angle they were at.
Finally some paint and a $1 table is transformed. And the hubby? I think he is a keeper, even without any style.
Cute! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I seriously was going to toss it, but then decided it was good challenge.

ReplyDeleteThanks, he was a little surprised when the first thing I did was completely disassemble it.

ReplyDeleteHa-ha, hubbies are funny!
DeleteThis is a magical transformation! It might just encourage him to bring home more... Great job on the seeing and then making a carriage out of a pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable "after" you did! Love it. It can be used in so many different places too. And I agree your hubby is a keeper:)

I love the transformation, it turned out beautiful! Your hubby probably knows by now that you can turn anything ugly into something awesome. And you did an awesome job on the ugly table. I don't think I wouldn't thought to move the bottom up for the apron. You have a good eye. Looks so much better. Love the colors, and the distressing! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletewell, of course you paint it! It turned out beautiful
ReplyDeleteI think I hear this table whispering, "thank you, thank you so very much."
ReplyDeleteHe knows that you'll turn anything he brings home into a treasure. Great job, I love the color.
