Now, if I didn't do this on a budget I would not change my decor so much. But, when it is all said and done, I will spend around $50 and that is a gift I a willing to buy myself.
I wanted some large, warm and fuzzy, Christmas ornaments for the tree and after a little thinking, figured out how to make some.
I started with these clear plastic balls from Michaels. They were on sale and with an extra coupon they were less than a dollar each for the larger ones.
I took the ornament hanger off and then coated the ball in decoupage glue.
I bought a skein on yarn that was thick and variegated and the color I was wanting--the tweedy tan. I started wrapping it around the ball in different directions.
When the ball is fairly covered, I dabbed on some more glue and then finished wrapping the ball to completely cover it. I cut the yarn and glued the end down. I gently used my hands to press the yarn around the ornament and let it dry,
Then I put the top back on the ornament and added some jute to hang it from.
Love these! Thank You for sharing!
