Layered Architectural Salvage Mirror

Do you ever have a project on your mind and finally just have to get it out of your head? That is what happened with this layered mirror I created.

And, I couldn't wait to share it with you so I am taking a break from finishing up my 12 Days of Christmas posts to show you this beauty.

I started with a four pane window sash that had no glass. I left the finish as it was and simply clear coated it to keep that chippy paint in place. I music holder from an old piano made the perfect topper on the window frame. I painted this white and distressed it and then screwed it into the top of the window sash.

I added an ornate wood frame that was painted green and gold. I painted it white and then distressed it by sanding it and staining over the paint. I used jute to hang the frame.
round mirror to buy
The round mirror is from the craft store. (affiliate link) You can get mirrors like this from Amazon too--see HEREI used good Gorilla Glue (This ONE) to adhere some cotton rope to the back of the mirror and then hung both the frame and the mirror from a nail.

I love the layered look and the different pieces that created this neat, architectural mirror.

And here it is for sale in my antique booth. I hope it finds a new home soon!
