Pallet Wood Coffee Crate

More pallet wood means more crates! I know, really, another crate?

But, they are quick, pallet wood is perfect for them, they are super useful, and they sell.

This is a larger sized crate made from both wide (5 1/2" ) pallet boards and more narrow ones (3 1/2"). You can often find both sized boards on one pallet. I used four of the wider boards and two of the more narrow boards.

I cut the short ends 14" long and the long sides are 22" long. I started by making the short ends. I cut four narrow pallet boards 12" long and used these to join the two 14" x 5 1/2" boards together.

I joined the two ends I made with the 22" x 5 1/2" boards. I used screws for this project rather than glue and nail gun because screws definitely make the crate more sturdy.

I used the narrow boards for the bottom of the crate, spacing them about 1/2" apart.

ALSO, please note, prices for stencils that you see are in Canadian and convert to less in US dollars.)

After sanding I stenciled my most used stencil from Old Sign Stencils (because who doesn't love coffee things??), using white paint.
When the paint was dry, I stained the crate with Early American stain from Minwax. I then clear coated the crate.

This sized crate is great for blankets, pillows, toys, stuffed animals, newspapers.
