I have been "ignoring" my MORE Monday posts.  It hasn't really been happening on purpose, just in summer mode.  Ya know, not really sure what day it is or which end is up.

Happy Sunday!  Have you ever thought you were born in the wrong era? As a kid I was pretty sure I was supposed to be a neighbor or a sister to Laura Ingalls. I adore many things (like this old car) from the past and wish for simpler times. But, here is the thing, I know God created me to live in THIS time. God has a purpose and a reason for placing us where we are. I don't know about you, but there are days when I watch the news and I think, it can't get much worse on this ol' planet. And, on those days, I am comforted when I remember God knows and He sees and He wants us here now--to love him and to show his love to others, no matter how wild and crazy the ride is.  My hope is that when you are questioning why you are here or why you have to live in tumultuous times, you remember: God knows, God has a plan and a purpose for you.

Live Edge Hairpin Bench

When I spied a little vintage side table with a damaged Formica top at a garage sale, I knew I had to buy it for the hairpin legs. 

And, I knew they would look fantastic on a piece of live edge wood.

Happy Sunday! Last week my daughter and I drove around Butte, Montana and I snapped a few photos of her and of the deteriorating, abandoned buildings. Both were beautiful, but as a big storm rapidly approached, I didn't bother to change my camera settings or look at the photos to see how they were turning out. The only thing I did to get a better picture was change my position and my perspective. When we change our viewpoint and try to see life through God's lens, it changes.  God's thinking and perspective are so much better and clearer than ours because He sees the whole picture.  When things are not turning out or happening like we think they should be, let's change our perspective and trust God's views and ways.

Vintage Travel Trunk

There are some of the nicest antique dealers at The Antique Barn in Gallatin Gateway where I have a booth.  And when one sweet dealer said she just couldn't do anything with this trunk and asked if I wanted it, I said yes please.

Happy Sunday! Living in Montana means I am surrounded by mountains, mountains that are beautiful and that I love to hike and explore. The mountains can also be challenging and hard and relentless, sadly taking lives at times. God knows that the "life mountains", the obstacles and challenges, can stop us if we allow them to. He doesn't want the hard things to keep us from going forward. Our obstacles have a purpose, AND even better, God made a way for us through and around and over the mountains--Jesus. God promises to help us and to never leave us, he promises to bring good from bad and to make the way easier for us. Whatever we are facing, Jesus is going ahead of us, leveling the path and protecting us as we face our mountains.

Rustic Fish Bench

Sometimes I find something at a garage sale or a thrift store and I know instantly what I will make with it.  Such was the case when I spied this nubby blanket/rug at the thrift store--I KNEW it wanted to be the upholstery fabric on a bench.

However, it took me a year to actually build the bench for the fish blanket. 

How to Make More Time in Your Day

Y'all, I totally missed MORE Monday post last week and didn't even realize it. Memorial Day played a roll in my forgetting, but so did the fact that I have felt very busy and short on time.

But, as the saying goes, we all have the same 24 hours in a day, how we CHOOSE to use it is what matters.

Happy Sunday! Do you have a "person", you know, that somebody who will stand by you, support you, hold your hand, and love you no matter what? It feels so good to know that someone will stand with us in all of life's ups and downs. Jesus is ALWAYS standing with us, always strengthening us. God is FOR us! And, he isn't supporting us only if--there are NO conditions to his sustenance. We don't have to jump through any hoops, perform any tasks to earn Jesus' love and support. It is a gift, readily available, ever-present in our lives. My hope is that you KNOW that, KNOW he is standing with each of us, KNOW his unconditional love.

Make a Coat Tree from a Reclaimed Wood Fence Post

I have had making a coat stand or coat tree on "my list" for probably 8+ years.  You know, one of those things that you think, "I really should make a coat tree, it will be a good seller and easy."

After hubby brought home some 4" x 4" fence posts, I finally built one.

Nightstand Makeover

When someone sends you a picture of a little nightstand and asks if you want it, you say sure! (or at least I do.)

The before was an outdated little piece with a formica top, but a good solid drawer.  I removed the little legs before I took this picture.
