Have you ever used the phrase with your kids, "Do as I say, not as I do,"? We tell our kids to be themselves, to be unique, but how many of us forget to do the same? We follow the latest trends, we compare, and worry if the choices we make are "okay".
I really see myself doing this in my home of all places, the thing I blog about and am supposed to be on top of. I get worried about making "mistakes" that won't be decoratively acceptable. What if what I choose to do is off trend already? What if the color I pick was the color of the year five years ago?
I feel stupid even writing this, but I realize that let the fear of how I am supposed to decorate keep me from doing anything.
And, it is not just in my home, I allow other's opinions and my need to compare affect decisions and how I do life.
When I do remember to be me, to let who I am and who I am created to be shine, I am so much happier. I am relaxed and confident and I can physically feel the difference.
This week, let's try to be ourselves a bit more. Let's listen to our intuitions and remember who WE are and let's take a few small steps towards being ourselves. Print out this FREE PRINTABLE HERE and as always, let me know what you are working on!
