Rustic Farmstand Pumpkin Sign

I knew I wanted a sign for fall that was rustic and looked like it had been painted by a farmer for a roadside farmstand. A little "playing" and I got the look I was after--rustic and simple.

Inspiring Devotion on Making Life Easier with Jesus
Happy Sunday! Do you have a do-it-yourself attitude and independent spirit, or have you ever been called strong-willed? I sure have and while being independent is an admirable quality, it also can make life awfully hard when we try to do life apart from Jesus. Some of us try to do life without Jesus because we have fallen away or are ashamed of how we are living or we have never sought a real relationship with him. But, this is not how our Father intended us to live. He wants us to remain in Jesus no matter what--to let him be a part of everything we do--the good, the bad, and the ugly. It is not always easy to let him in, but it always worth it. And if you are not sure where to start, simply talk to Jesus, repeat his name if that is all you feel like you can do and practice daily relationship with our Father.

How to Update and Outdated Chair

When I purchased a kitchen table at the thrift store, it came with three, outdated, less-than-lovely chairs.  Hello 1990!

I almost left them at the store, but I had room in my truck so I threw them in, and I am happy I did. I eliminated a few parts and pieces and added some paint and barnwood to update the outdated!

Sunday Verses

devotional about God's never ending favor and joy
Happy Sunday! In this current season I feel like I know a lot of folks who are going through some rough stuff. I am talking the really hard, life altering situations. And in these tough times, there is sadness and anger and fear. But, there is also hope. My prayer is that people know that hard things do not last a lifetime. Sadness and disappointment are a moment in the whole scheme of things. Peace and happiness will return and when we rest in God's never ending favor, we will KNOW, even when we don't feel it, that joy WILL return, and that it is worth waiting for. Knowing this truth, helps us to keep on keeping on!

Thrift Store End Table Makeover

I shared a few years ago that I definitely enjoy building furniture rather than just painting it to resell.

But, sometimes things are a no-brainer, like buying this little icebox reproduction nightstand for a few dollars from the thrift store.  I knew it would be a quick makeover with a little paint.

Sunday Verses

devotional about faith
Happy Sunday! Yesterday, our smoky skies cleared for a time, it rained a bit, and we were happy to see our beloved mountains. More than a million acres have burned in Montana in the past six weeks, and on most days we have not been able to see the mountains that surround us. But, even on the days we haven't seen the mountains, we KNEW they were still there. Faith is the same--it is the thing that assures us that God is working in the background even when we don't see it. When we are praying and waiting on Jesus to answer, we have hope that He will act. Faith enables us to trust in KNOWING that God "has got this" whatever this may be. Faith helps us to keep going even when we don't see the whole picture or know the entire plan. This week, let's practice resting in faith.
