Ironing Things Out!

Here is an ironing board message center I made this evening, sorry I am too tired to find a place to hang it up.  I picked up 2 wooden ironing boards at the thrift store for $4 each, this one is a little smaller.
I secured the folding legs to it with screws, painted a chalkboard on it, stained the wood, added an enamel lid for a magnet board, some hooks and chalk holder--simple and fun.

Whew, We Made It!

We made it, through the graduation parties, family, graduation, and Senior Sober that I was the chairperson of.  Arrived home at about 3:30 a.m., the kids had so much fun.  Only one 8th grade promotion and one dance recital to go.  I will be junking and creating again starting tomorrow, I can't wait!  Thanks for sticking around and being patient!
PS--My son did get a scholarship for architectural CAD-we were very proud!

Where Does Time Go?

If I am missing in action the next week or so, it is because my baby is graduating from high school.  I am ready, it is time for him to spread his wings...I cried at Target today reading graduation cards.
But, I have too much to do to be crying--in the next week: softball tourney for daughter, hubby out of town for track coaching, grad party, baccalaureate, senior dessert social, preschool graduation/program for my classes, awards assembly, talent show, graduation, senior sober party--I am the chairperson, 8th grade promotion, dance recital, sleep for a week!  So, blogging may be on the back burner, however..it is part of my sanity, and linky parties will definitely still be going on!

From Breadbox to Birdhouse Storage Table

This little piece started life as a breadbox and an adirondak chair.  I don't have a before picture, but this was huge, homemade breadbox now tipped on its end.

I used pieces from a broken adirondak chair to make the base and the bottom shelf.  I added some legs I had, painted and distressed it, and drilled a bird hole and attached a teaspoon for a perch.

I still have to hinge it, think I will use a piano hinge on the inside.  It would make great storage for potatoes in the kitchen, towels in the bathroom, magazines or DVDs in a family room.

This Little Shelf Went To Market

...or at least it will be this summer, the Farmer's Market where I sell my junk.  Another drawer rescued with a paint job and a few boards added for shelves and presto chango, a great, handy, dandy shelf.

Patriotic Coat Hook--It's a Gas

Every day for the past few weeks as I carefully pull my car into its precious, junk surrounded garage space, I have noticed 3 scraps of wood on my scrap cart, a red, white, and blue one.  I decided they needed to come together to make a patriotic project--a coat hook. I joined the pieces together with a scrap of wood on the back and then searched for the right junky hooks.  When I saw two old gas can nozzles in my junk drawer I decided they'd be perfect "hooks" or coat hangers.

PS--Hubby just informed these are really oil can nozzles, but the title wouldn't work, so I am sticking with gas cans :)!

Under $100 Linky Party

Is it spring yet? Certainly doesn't seem like it here in Montana.  We have had so much snow and cold wind, some hail and gropple (softer than hail, harder than snow).  I have lived here for almost 30 years, I know this IS spring in Montana. and yet I am still surprised, over it, and ready for warmth.  How is your weather?  Have you had beautiful spring days to work outside?  Sure looks like it from some of the amazing things you all have been linking up.
Loved this cabinet door upcycle from Crafty, Happy, Scrappy, That's Me:
Adventures in Creating shared a new twist in a wine cork bulletin board--I like the corks cut!
I think this dream sign from Home Frosting is the perfect addition above a bed:
These cakes in a jar from A Little of This, A Little of That make me smile :)!
Allie Belle Designs shared the cutest bag made from a table runner.
Check out this very cool fingerprint art from California Callahans:

I think I am hungry because I have to share another recipe, beautiful, colorful summer slaw Let Birds Fly.
