Chair Love

I have had a little table for a year or two that needed some chairs.  I found these 2 at the thrift store and fell in love with the great details (and price--$3 each!).

A little paint and sanding and stain, some new fabric and I ended up with a fun and great little set.

Boardin'!

To my boys, boardin' means something different, they are avid snowboarders.  But to me, boardin' means making bulletin boards, which have been selling well this summer.  Here are a couple I actually remembered to take pictures of.
The first is made from an old window frame:

And for this one I used a cupboard door that had a glass piece in it.  A fun way to get organized and add a pop of color!

Under $100 Linky Party

I helped my oldest son move into college today--he is only 10 miles away, but still emotional and tough on mama.  Also, had one start high school today and one start 4th grade at a new school and hubby start new job as an assistant principal--big day at my house.  Are you ready for fall and the changes it brings?  What fun new things are you doing?  Can't wait to see your links. Here are some great ones from last week:
The Country Chic Cottage's coffee sack ottoman is so cool--I want to make one!
I can see why This and That fromTamie has a love affair going on with this coffee table.
Biljana Shabby's makeovers always make me smile, this is so sweet.
A great and easy art center from Burton Avenue!
West Furniture Revival shows that a birdcage can be so much more than for the birds.
A stool is the perfect place for a postmark as Catnap shows.
Etcetorize shows you how to make a hip fringe scarf, my daughter and I are trying this.

Thank you so much for sharing a part of you with us each week!

Great Apple Crate

I don't even know where I acquired this apple crate--I have had it for quite a long time with wood scraps in it.  I was looking at it one day and decided it needed to be rescued so that what was left of the label could be saved.  I started by decoupaging the label, it was very fragile.

The label was on the box upside down to start, which was perfect for my project.

I added some 2x4 legs and some wax,

that was all it took to make this rotten apple shine.

love

Want a little love?  How about taking 4 drawer fronts (or pieces of wood), adding some stickers or vinyl letters, paint, peel up the letters and stain over the top.

I then attached a thin piece of board across the back (HINT, do not spell out love and then just flip over the boards--you will get evol, been there, done that!), and added some picture hanging wire.  I am looking forward to playing with this idea some more.

Ugly Step Sister Number Three

I din't forget poor little step sister number 3, life got in the way of her transformation.  But finally, she, ahem, or he, is fresh and new and now living life a little more on the masculine side.  Before I reveal the change, let's recap:
Step sister number one before and after,
Step sister number two before and after,
and finally step sister number three before,
and after.
A few stripes,
an inspirational word and she/ he is ready for a new life!
