Oh my, where have I been?  So sorry for my little unexpected blogging break.  No worries, all is fine, just busy, busy and away from the computer.  With 2 kids in track, 1 in HS and 1 in MS, I have been averaging 4 track meets a week, and let me tell you, track meets aren't short sporting events (or for the faint of heart here in MT--I have been sitting through all kinds of weather and was even attacked by a flying high jump pit that got caught up in a whirlwind).  Then I had company over the weekend and blah, blah, blah!

I know--I didn't get to my I Was Inspired post this week--I guess I won't feel guilty about it.  I have been enjoying the beautiful weather we have had--hiking and being with the family and I have been to lots of track meets.  I will show off some inspired work next week.
The general consensus seems to be in favor of the picture linky, so I am going to stick with that.  I have new questions for you, are there too many linky parties going on?  Are you tired of seeing the same things at each one?  Should I change my linky party to once a month?  I love your feedback, thanks!  And now some of last week's goodies:

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall

This is a fun way to use extra hand mirrors you may have, and to add a little something to reflect some light in a room.  I think this one is self-explanatory--my only tip is to use epoxy to hold those mirrors on!  Oh and clean the mirrors before showing them off :).

Primping the Porch

It was a beautiful spring day here, a great day to pretty up the porch, which had been much neglected over the winter and now looked like this:

I will not plant my pots for another 3-4 weeks, too many below freezing nights left.  I wiped everything down with some soapy water. I made a coffee sack curtain to hide the mess under my potting table by threading the burlap onto a piece of wire strung between the table legs.

I used this toolbox that was full of this (there was fun junk in there!):

to make this little vignette.

I cleaned off my little table and chairs--$10 total for the set, purchased separately at garage sales.  I painted the tabletop.

I didn't do too much with the red chair and stool by my front door.  The stool is from my grandparents patio and holds many memories of fun BBQs and the red chair is from my in-laws place.  The black tubing is part of my drip system.

I can't wait to get some plants out here, but until then, it looks much better and is ready for morning coffee.

I Was Inspired By...

This week I was inspired by some of my favorite girls, The Junk Fest Girls from ND.  I even recently had the pleasure of meeting Andrea (although we didn't have time for junking or a glass of wine).

The Junk Fest Girls know rusty, crusty and fabulous and have been inspiring me for some time.
Look at this recent pantry door they created--they give a great tute on it too.

Here is a beautiful, junky display they showed off for So You Think You Can Decorate:

Love this old rusty heater (?) repurposed into a great wine area.

And here is just one picture from their fantastic fall junk fest sale.

When I saw this great centerpiece by Andrea, I knew I needed wanted to make one too.

 I dug around in my junk (neatly organized in a dresser in the garage I'll have you know!) and this is what I came up with.  The main piece is also a canning jar holder, like Andrea's and the candle "holder" is a campfire toaster.

I used doorknobs for added interest and tied a #8 on the side.

Flowers would be great too, but I felt more in a candlelight mood seeing we got 5+ inches of snow today.  I used a piece of a coffee sack as a cloth underneath.  Note to self, don't put the words that you most want to show in the middle of the square that will be covered up by the centerpiece.

Relax, Soak, Enjoy

We needed a place to hang towels by the hot tub.  I saw a palette on the side of my house and decided it would be perfect.  I used the jigsaw to saw off what I needed.  I then painted the words--I freehand these mostly because I don't want to take the time to do anything else.  When you are painting letters and numbers it is much easier if the paintbrush is always going in a downward motion--a little different from writing.

I loved the patina from the wax on the spool top so I used it again.  I added some hooks where the wood supports were and screwed the whole thing into the side of the house.  The entire project took maybe a half hour.
