Project Challenge--Fencing
Welcome to another Project Challenge, where this month's challenge is fencing.
When your blog name is Beyond the Picket Fence, well of course you use picket fencing for the challenge--I made a message board.

Stool Tutorial!
So many of my projects start with this same basic construction. I am reposting this because if you master this, you will be able to build many things!
First, decide what you are using for your top. I have been using two 2x6's, which make mine about 18"x11" (these shown area little smaller--they were a special order to fit under one of the tables I had made).

Making Improvements
A former student of mine posted this quote on Facebook in regards to his working out. He said someone at the gym commented on his six pack and that he must be one of the lucky people who are born that way. Little did the person know that my former student was once quite overweight.
The quote resonated with me so much. Yesterday on Facebook I re-shared my post on embracing imperfection HERE.
I am in the midst of trying to get our house ready to sell. We have a date Wednesday night with the Realtor to take pictures. And I am freaking out.
Why did I let some things go so long?
How did things get so cluttered?
Why didn't I noticed the horrible dings and nicks in the walls before now?
I think I have been living with the idea if I can't do it all just right, just perfect, why do any of it? If my home can't look like the magazine than why work on making it better slowly?
NO MORE! For now I am living this quote, loving this quote, being this quote.
Thank you former student and Mark Twain. I am off to improve my home!!

Chicken Chair
Chicken chair you ask? What is that? A comfy spot for my fowl feathered friends to roost, so to speak?
Nope.
A chicken chair is a thrift store chair, repainted and recovered in a fun chicken chair fabric sample.

Always Kiss Me Sign
I showed you my pallet headboard HERE. It needed sign above it--I quickly handpainted this sweet sentiment:

Pallet Headboard
They say when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. In my case, it would be when life gives you scraps and leftovers, build something.
