Refashion Passion

I got a new sewing machine for Christmas.  I was very excited as mine was on its last leg.  I did a few refashioning projects over Christmas.  This $2 very heavy and nice Ralph Lauren shirt was my first project.  I forgot a before picture, but imagine your basic men's flannel shirt. (Ignore my "model" pose!)
I took off the collar, cut it apart and used it to make a ruffle up front.  I sewed up the collar edge to make a madarin collar.
I also took in the side a bit and added a little elastic to the back.  It was a fun first project!

  4. Very cute! You are quite the seamstress. I just got a new sewing machine too. The one I had been using I purchased in 1983 (almost an antique!)
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  11. So cute! I have a couple of cardigans that I am NOT liking and was contemplating "refashioning" them. Just not sure how to go about it! I can just see ruining then and ending up with sweater pillows!

  12. Very cute and I bet you could sell this make over on Ebay...I am amazed especially with what some of them sellers do with the vintage 70's skirts and dresses ...they chop em so and sell em for big mulla! I can't wait to see what else ya come up with ;) Deb
