Chalk Anything

I have loved chalkboards since I was a child.  Maybe it is the teacher in me.  I prefer a chalkboard over a white board.  I like the gritty chalk, I like the bright, white writing, I like that you can erase it all so easily.

Now, there is a new reason to love chalk, at least new to me.  This fun new Folk Art product called Chalk Anything.

Yes, you heard me right, ANYTHING!

It dries clear!  Oh, imagine the possibilities.  My first project was a reclaimed wood chalkboard.

I sanded it to make it smooth enough to write on and then used a light stain on the wood.

Two thin coats of this product and 24 hours of dry time and voila, a chalkboard that LOOKS like wood because it is.

Nothing is safe now.  What would you use it on?

  3. Very Cool! Wouldn't it be fun to write on your wall with black chalk and when your kids come home from school or the Hubby from work, and they see your message, " Goodbye, I've gone to live with the Nuns", they will all think we lost our minds. Oh sorry, too many chores today and I'm starting to talk like my Mother...I do love the wood chalkboard. Thanks for sharing!
