So...church needed a video of something being restored or changed for the new message series. And a friend needed a bench for her new home. I combined the two and made this bench!
The bench was made from all reclaimed, pallet wood pieces.

I used the kreg jig to join the pallet 2"x 4" apron to the legs.
I painted it white and grey and teal, sanded some off and then used Dark Walnut stain over it all.
I don't have a tutorial on it, but you can watch the video the church made HERE!!
Love bench you made for friend, how nice for you to do that. Good old pallets, we have few pieces hubs made out of pallets, not as easy to get them as was year or so ago. Luckily still have few left out in back yard pile. Chickens still like to play on them now that Spring is here. They seem to enjoy jumping off of them, so funny to watch, like little kids.
ReplyDeleteLove how you stained bottom of bench, painted/stained top, looks great. They seem to hold up for long time. We have things hubs made years ago still strong and in good shape.
Enjoy your weekend Becky
Pallets are still plentiful here in the Gallatin Valley. I love that the chickens enjoy them. Yes, I think the pallets hold up well--especially if they have had a chance to weather a bit outside.
DeleteBecky, that is beautiful and yes, so touching. Thanks for sharing. Blessings and smiles
ReplyDeleteThank you Emilou!!
DeleteSo cool so see your work in action! Love the bench and the message:)
ReplyDeleteThank you. That is 3 hours of filming for a 2 minute video, haha!
DeleteI love stuff made from pallets and we're very fortunate here in South Africa that they're pretty easy to find so we'r always on the look out for things to make with them. I loved your bench Becky and the video that the church made has such a lovely message too.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was fun to make. I had a friend that did some work in South Africa. He said they shipped some items in huge shipping pallet containers and that people used them to make housing. I love that they can be reused!
