You never know what you might find at a thrift store in Montana, but when I spied this chicken feeder for $3, I knew I could do something with it...
and decided to make it into a rustic, farmhouse side table.
I cut out a not so perfect round top from plywood and then from thin, reclaimed barnwood boards. I wanted the top fairly light since the chicken feeder is light, otherwise it would be tippy.
I was able to open the metal lid and attach the top to it. The top still opens so the feeder can be used for storage too.

I used Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencils (BUY HERE!!) to add a little more farmhouse to the chicken feeder table, using the Grain Sack Stripes and the NEW Grain stencil.
I stained the wood top and clear coated it to finish. This would be fun next to a couch or in an entry or as a bedside table.
