I am still working on my making our master bedroom into a cozy and functional space with some rustic, boho style. I have shared my headboard, navy blue wall, moon sign, and bedside lights (HERE and HERE).
Today, I want to show you the cute seating area I put together along the wall that is to the left of the bedroom door.
This all came together with some favorite finds from the thrift store and garage sales.
A seating area needs a chair or a place to sit. I used a bamboo chair that I remade a few years ago (you can see the makeover HERE). The pillow is from the thrift store.
The little table next to it is a garage sale find. I had to cut a bit of the legs off because two of them were rotted on the bottom. I used a circular saw to cut them to 18". I then sanded the flaky paint off and used a clear coat on the table to seal it. It is a bluish, grey color, and with the natural wood coming through and the cream underneath I decided to leave it as is.
This is a great spot to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and to use my new happy light. It is very overcast here in Northern Idaho and I am missing the Montana sunny skies. This happy light helps the mood and makes it so I don't want to nap all the time. My daughter got one too to help stay awake with the time change in the fall so she can manage those late night study sessions.

I wanted a coat hook in the bedroom for a favorite sweatshirt, hat, purse, etc.
I love vintage, wood hangers and decided to figure out a way to use some as a coat hook.
I hung them upside down, drilling through the inside part of the wood clamp. The metal hanger part is far enough from the wall to easily hang items on.
The print on the wall came from the thrift store too.
It is fishing contest poster from 1988, the year we got married. It came framed and matted and I loved the colors and design.
I still want to find a cozy rug for this spot, but even now it is a nice spot to read, have a drink, or put my shoes on.
Love this idea! I have a few left over from hanging photos and I was trying to figure out how to use them.
