Shutter Planter

Yes, I am still here. I even missed Sunday Verses--sorry I was too busy enjoying Mother's Day! We had a lovely day of going to church (after I was served breakfast in bed), picnicing and hiking.

My postings will probably be sparse for the next few weeks as I finish up preschool. It is always such a crazy time of year--concerts, awards assemblies, track meets, plus all of the end of the year stuff I do for preschool.

I did manage to get this little planter done. I saw something similar on a friend's front porch. It wasn't shutters and it wasn't a wire basket, but a wire thingy and it was green. I decided I needed to find some junk to make something similar. The basket is a freezer basket, I see these quite often at garage sales. I screwed a 1x2 board across the shutters and then screwed holes through the edge of the basket and put screws down through the 1x2 to secure the basket. Imagine flowers or herbs in it as it would look much cuter, but it was a snowing here yesterday, so I am waiting 1 more week to plant. I am going to sell this, but am going to test it out first to make sure it can handle the weight of wet soil. Hope you all are doing well!

  1. Good job. I like it. I think some wave pettunias would look great in there.
