As I enjoyed my first mojito of the season on the front porch this past weekend, I declared summer is here. Now, let me tell you, this is early for us northerners and a bit of a surprise. Memorial Day weekend is typically rainy with snow flurries--this weekend we turned the AC on. And while I enjoy all of the seasons, I am thrilled and ready summer is upon us.
I hope you are happily anticipating and enjoying summer as well. I thought I would share a few past summer inspired ideas for your walls. These are all easy ideas that can be used in your home, on your front door or porch. Let me know if you try one--I love hearing you were inspired!
For my family summer and bike riding go hand in hand, and this easy reclaimed bike art is a fun symbol of that.
Brightly colored painted bowls look great year round, but especially make me think happy summer colors.
A salvaged wood star like this one,
or this picket fence one,
or this GIANT one remind us of our favorite summer holiday, the 4th of July.
Speaking of the 4th, how about creating a reclaimed wood flag?
In Montana, summer means fishing for trout. A rainbow fish is a fun interpretation of that.
A cheery colored salvaged window art piece brightens your home for summer.
What about using a big number with an intersting paint job on the porch?
Collect driftwood at the beach or along a river and make a mirror to remember your trip.
And my recent additions are easy for summer--a wreath.
and reclaimed wood art.
Summertime, the living is easy and fun. Let your "art" reflect that--keep it simple and bright, something that makes you smile.
