Y'all, I have been MIA! I was told once to never apologize for infrequently blogging. After all, I realize you are not hanging on my every word or project, but I do hope to jump back on the blogging boat soon.
Right now I only have time for quick projects and these cute shelf sitters fit the bill perfectly.
I started with a scrap 2" x 6" cedar board. You want something thick that won't tip over on a shelf.
Using Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencils I stenciled a few leaves from the Fall Graphics stencil on one of the blocks. I used different colors until I got a look I liked.
I used just three of the leaves and this can be displayed either "portrait" way or "landscape".
I also stenciled a pumpkin in white for my library shelves.
It makes a good book end too! I finished the blocks with clear coat.
Speaking of my library, I was recently given this funky chair that works great at my puzzle table.
I found a Pier 1 pillow at the thrift store that sort of matched the chair given to me and helps to coordinate the two different chairs (see the bamboo chair makeover HERE).
These shelf sitters take less than hour to make and are a fun way to add a touch of fall to you shelves or window ledges or desk. they make great gifts too.
Here's your "woo-hoo". We'll take these projects, even if they're auickies!
