Pretty Picture and a Post

I picked up this print the other day at thrift store on 1/2 price day. I love it and will probably be keeping it if I can find a place for it.

Here is the information on the back.

The original painting was done on the 1920's and I think this print is from the 30's or 40's. It is supposed to be of Jesus--the western version with the blond curls. It has such an ethereal quality to it. The artist was known as the Norman Rockwell of the Catholic Church--funny.

I also picked up this post/pole thing on the side of the road for free. Looks like it is the pole used to hang IV bags or something--don't know what it is meant for, do you? I think it will be great with plants or jars with candles hanging off of it. Have a great day, and someone enjoy some spring for me--we are supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow tonight--egads!

  1. Yes, that is an IV pole. How funny! There is one in my daughter's room to hold her feeding pump and bag. Sure wish I could find a way to make it cute or pretty. LOL!

  2. Love the picture. And you're right. Looks like an iv stand to me. It will look great with candles..or as a hat stand...or even in the bathroom holding robes. Love it! ~Mindy

  3. I like the idea of it in the bathroom to hang a robe or towels.

Say it isn't so about the snow! You know if it hits you, it is on it's way to me next. So far all I've heard is rain in the near forcast...and we're still trying to get rid of the "other" snow.

  4. Hi, I really like that print. It's sweet. Also, what an interesting find...I'm sure I would have picked up that pole thingy too. You must post again when you decide what to do with it.

  5. I would have picked it up too. I would paint it black or white and put it outside and hang potted hanging baskets from it. I guess I would have to cement it down so that it wouldn't fall over. The candle idea is a good one too and might even work better. Let a vine grow up the pole.

I love the picture. Very pretty.
