I have been busy, burying myself in some book revisions and retakes. Today, I paused to make a little Easter item for myself--a rugged cross.
I grabbed some scrap wood from my pile, cut some angles on the ends, and laid out the scraps until I liked it.
I flipped the pieces over and joined them with a thin pallet wood scrap.
I then figured out what I wanted for scraps on the arms of the cross and secred them from the back as well.
I decided the middle needed a little something more. I added a door plate which I thouht was fitting since Jesus said, "Knock and the door will be opened for you."
I sprayed a clear sealer on it and hung it on my door.
I like the rustic wood!

I was thinking the door knob plate was also symbolic of Jesus being the door way to Heaven. I like the verse application you used, too. Happy Easter!
