I have been having a lot of fun painting with wood scraps on pieces of plywood. My latest painting was an easy, colorful, rustic heart.
I start with a piece of plywood. I had several of these that someone gave me.
I use blocks of wood to apply my paint, using craft paints and latex, and chalk paint (i.e. anything I have). I chose turquoise and white for the background.
I then painted the heart with layers of paint, using wood scraps. I lightly sketched the heart out, but didn't completely follow that because I didn't want it perfect.
I tarted with dark blue, then green, yellow, and finally red.
A frame and some stain finished this art piece.
It sold two hours after I took it to my booth! 😏
Love this! I definitely want to try this technique.
ReplyDeleteThank you, it is so much fun!
DeleteI also want to try this out! I cannot draw very well, but I think I can do this! What fun.
ReplyDeleteCut a heart out from paper and then trace it!
