Tea For Three

Remember the saucers project I did awhile back? The other day I think I found at least two of the teacups that went with the saucers, plus a great orange one. I found them at the same thrift store, but more than a month later. I painted up a little cutting board and epoxied them on there. This little organizer would be wonderful for tea, jewelry, office supplies, coin sorting, and let's not forget chocolates!

I also wanted to show a little of how I get some of my inspiration. I love to sit down with a magazine and force myself to find at least 5 ideas. These may be color combinations or designs, or anything really. When I see something, it may make me think of something else. I jot down ideas in a sketch book. Here are some recent things that inspired me from the current issue of Country Living magazine.

And here are some of the sketches I made. Being looking for future projects created with these inspiring ideas.

  1. What a great way to save the "inspiration" you find in magazines. Might be better than my way...keep ALL the magazines.

  3. I love the idea of the half wooden bowl and the plate. I love anything to do with dishes! That is a cute planter. I know that you will probably be making one soon.

  4. I just went through some old magazines last night! I have my "inspirational folders". However, I think I'm finding quite a bit of inspiration at all the eye candy on everyone's blogs!

  5. I like your idea to sketch things out. I never do that, I don't even write down the ideas when they come flying through my head. That's such a great idea! It might come in handy when I have a creative block...!

I do save all of my magazines, with pages dogeared, and I tear out ideas a lot. My stack of pages is a little wild at the moment. I keep thinking I should organize it into a binder...

  6. Adorable tea cup idea...I am having some gals over for tea next week and this would be perfect for offering tea choices. I will be on the hunt for some cute tea cups.

I am a magazine clipper, saver too!
