Belted Inspiration

I like leather belts--they inspire me for some reason.  Perhaps, living in Montana, I am a rodeo queen wanna be, dreaming of wearing a prized belt with a flashy buckle (nah, I don't think that is it).  They are inexpensive at thrift stores, especially on half price days and come in a variety of colors and styles.  Whatever it is, I have made a few things with them:
A belted basket,

My latest idea started with a pile of belts and an old framed picture.

A little black paint on the frame, a little weaving and staple gunning, and I got this:

    I have to say, that is so cool. I would never have come up with that. Now I'm going to be looking at belts in a whole new way.
