Happy Sunday! At a recent volleyball tournament a player sitting near me was crying uncontrollably. Her team had just lost and she was inconsolable. I tried to encourage her and I told her some advice I read somewhere: "If it is not going to matter five years from now, do not spend more than 5 minutes on it." We all spend so much time worrying about things that are temporary. Life is constantly changing. Problems come and go. We exert energy on things that do not last and on things that are out of our control. When we live by God's Word we are standing on something that is eternal. Rather than focus on the temporary things of this world, let's instead try to rest on God's unchanging promises and love.

Farmhouse Work Table
When you get the phone call saying you sold some bigger pieces in your antique booth, what do you do? Why, quickly build something new of course!
So, after looking at the wood supply that was in the workshop, I decided to come up with a farmhouse style work table.

More Health on MORE Mondays
We are focusing on more health today because it is so very important for every area of our life. The benefits of healthier bodies and minds carry over into ALL other ares of our lives--better job performance, better relationships, happier days.

Sunday Verses
Happy Sunday! I have always been more of an optimist, believe in the power of positive thinking. But, some days it is just hard to focus on the positive. On these days, when I remember, I force myself to stop the stinkin' thinkin' by mentally listing 10 things I am thankful for. I have also kept a gratitude journal throughout various tough life times and believe that it can be life changing. This week when you find yourself grumbling and focusing on the bad, stop and think about and be thankful for the good things in your life.

Live Edge Reclaimed Wood Table
A new load of reclaimed barn wood means I get to play in the workshop.
I got three long hunks of reclaimed, live edge wood and decided one need to be used as a sofa table (or entry table).

More Courage on MORE Mondays
Have you seen this video of a girl who faced 100 of her fears in 100 days?!
Video HERE
Wow, super brave, right? It got me to thinking, what are my fears and how can I overcome them. I have some little fears such as, "Do I look like an idiot wearing this?" and the BIG ones, "What if my child dies while driving to school."

Sunday Verses
Happy Easter! Today we celebrate the empty tomb. We celebrate Jesus's victory over death. We remember the hope of his promises and are assured that Jesus will do what he says he will do, we need only to believe. May today remind you that there is victory over death, light in the dark places, healing where there is pain, hope when things seem hopeless. Rejoice and rest--Jesus has conquered the grave!

Old Grate Industrial Table
I definitely believe in the saying, "One man's trash, is another man's treasure" and I am sure the former owners of our 1931 schoolhouse thought these old grates (I found three tucked in a corner of the basement) were junk.

More Patience
Boy, I am becoming more and more aware of my own impatience and the impatient world we are living in.
We live in a time when instant gratification is rampant and it has created impatient, angry people.

Sunday Verses
Happy Sunday! I have been busy--busy building and parenting and "doing". In all the busyness, the doing of things that needed to be done and the thinking of the things that didn't get done, but should have, I started thinking about and thanking God for the gift of his grace. Each week on Sundays I suggest ways to apply God's word to our lives by trusting and praying and giving our stresses to God. These are tools and ways of living that make life easier. But our salvation is not earned or something that we can work hard for or gain by "doing". Our salvation is a gift that comes from Christ alone when we believe in him. Busy is fine, working on living out God's plan is great, but let's rest in remembering that we do not have to work for his grace.

Rustic Industrial Spool Table
A friend did a little pickin' for me at an estate sale and one of the things she got for me was a round table top that had been made from a cable or wire spool. It wanted to be a table again, so I created this rustic, industrial table--perfect for a small coffee or cocktail spot.

More Relationship on More Mondays
Hello to the small, but classy group that is still with me on MORE Mondays.
Last week was a great time to review and redefine goals (SEE POST HERE!).
Today we are going to focus on having more and/or better relationships with people.

Sunday Verses
Happy Sunday! I think most of us believe that God's power is available to us to help us in this life, but I think we (or at least I) try to tell God how to use his power. The power is HIS and we are asked to be like windmills that turn as needed to harness it. We need to listen and watch and see what Jesus is doing and tune in to it. God is a God of specifics and we can try and tell him what we specifically need or want, but He always has a better plan than we do. If we let him have all the power, and stop trying to control and direct life, God will work HIS way--the best way!
