Typing Table Transformation

I transformed this typing table
into this bright and fun side table.
All it took was some chalk paint in Paris Grey and Barcelona (after cleaning off the contact paper goo on top),
a little stenciling in Pure White and Florence and Paris Grey,
and some clear wax to change a dilapidated piece into something fresh and new.
I left the base as I found it--I love the wheels!
What have you transformed lately?

Under $100 Linky Party

The kids started school today, woo-hoo!  God bless all of you moms who get sad at the beginning of the school year.  I think I felt that way when my precious babies were younger.  And come June, I will be excited for them to be out.  But, today I was ready for the new school year, ready to reclaim my kitchen and family room, ready to not hear, "What can I eat?", ready for a schedule.  How about you?  Sad?  Happy?  I look forward to having more time to do some fantastic projects like these:
Book papered wall from Number 53
Tomato jam, yes jam from Architecture of a Mom
3 Mango Seeds' kitchen prep table
A Few Pennies Industrial Pantry
Design Stash's sweet vintage books
Great fall color from Embracing Change

Dress Up Drawer

Using ANOTHER waterbed drawer I made a dress-up center.
I am sure you have seen these on Pinterest.  I am not sure what they did on the sides of theirs--I didn't look, just had the idea stuck in my craw.  I used some wood frame things I have had for a long time--not sure where I got them from.  I screwed them into the outer sides of the drawer,
I painted it all white, except for the green Dress Up.
I added hooks,

a rod across the middle for hangers, and wheels,
for a great place to organize all those dress-up clothes.

Rustic/Industrial Style Drawer

Using another waterbed drawer purchased by my husband (see my first transformation here) I made a more rustic/industrial looking ottoman.  Not sure if rustic/industrial is a defined style with authentic decorating gurus, but it works for me.
I added wheels to this one instead of legs,
a leather belt handle,
and a heavy wood top that I stained dark.
I made the lid the same as the last one, with 2x4's inside to create a tight fitting lid.
I used some muted Annie Sloan paint colors on this drawer to complete the rustic/industrial look.

Flexible Flyer Fun

Want a fun and versatile "table"?  Take an old red wagon,

add a base or legs and a bottom shelf,

leave the rust in there for a great patina,

and screw in a few hooks for a piece that can be used in so many ways.

I show it here as a bar,

but what about as a potting table or planter?  It would work in a bathroom for towels and lotions, on a front porch with seasonal items (how cute could it be at Christmas ti
me?), or in the kitchen to hold bowls and cookbooks? Find more ideas at Donna's Funky Junk Interiors.

Fall...and a Giveaway!

While it is not fall yet, I feel it in the Montana air--cooler nights, leaves beginning to turn, football games.  I love fall, it is my favorite season.  This fall is the first one in 25 years that I am not busy preparing a classroom for a new school year...and that is as it should be.  I love the kids, but know that I was ready to move on and let junk and furniture occupy my time and thoughts.  And I am also ready for my kids to get back to school, back into a schedule, ready to reclaim my kitchen and family room.  Ah yes, fall is good.  Here is some fall inspiration for you:

Ottodrawertastic!

I have been known to make up words so why not ottodrawertastic to describe this project?
I used one of 12 waterbed drawers hubby had bought me at a garage sale to make this ottoman.
I added legs from a bunk bed post and a plywood top with 2x4's inside so the lid would fit tight without moving around.
A padded top completed this ottodrawertastic project!
