Well, besides what you wear or listen to or say, you may have out of date furniture in your life. But, never fear, unlike your Hammer pants or BIG hair this kind of out of date is fixable.
Here are a few things I was able to update with a little paint and wood. Click on links to see the details.
A bench with a heart before
and after.
A wall shelf before,
and much better after.
Oh I wish I had a before picture of this--it was hunter green with ivy stenciled on it! Paint and wood added to the back freshen it up.
was made new with a faux verdigris paint treatment
with paint and beadboard and new hardware.
Replace smoked glass with colorful wood to make old tables new.
So while there may be no help to update your taste in music or hairstyles, try to breathe new life into outdated furniture pieces by seeing what it can be!
I love all of the updates. I see heart pieces all the time!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carlene--it is always rewarding to save something!

DeleteGreat updates! I really like how you made the heart cut out disappear.

ReplyDeleteI really like the ones with more than one color! I've never gotten into painting but I know it would be addictive! Nice updates to all of these!
