Fall Farmhouse Display

Fall--it is here!! Well, it is September anyway and I am calling it fall, my very favorite season!

And, this month, I have once again taken over the front display at The Antique Barn in Gallatin Gateway, MT where I sell at (see my JUNE DISPLAY HERE).  I totally planned on creating a back to school theme with old desks and things.  But, I was having a tough time finding such things at garage sales so I switched to a farmhouse in the fall theme.

I only added a few touches of fall so far (you have to ease some folks into the changing seasons), but will be adding more orange and fall later in the month. Gourds, a copper leafed pumpkin, a fall garland add bits of autumn.

I love this aqua color, which would typically be thought of as a spring color, for fall.  It pairs so well with the oranges, yellows, and tans of fall.  This is the sweetest little chair.

I also painted a ladder aqua.  An old highchair holds old school books.  These vintage highchairs (find similar ones HERE) also look cute sitting in a corner with a plant sitting on them or a rusty bucket with twigs.

I made a coat hook from an old drawer hook.

The drawer shelf sold within the first hour or so of being in the display.  Some old wood crates were added in its place.  The framed ceiling tin in the upper left corner was a roadside find, well the tin anyway.  I framed it out.  Originally I was going to put the tin behind the frame, but I loved the rusty edges too much to hide them. I have plans for other fun things to add as merchandise (hopefully!!) sells.

  5. Love your display. I can understand WHY the dresser shelf sold so quickly. How clever. Wish I could shop your spot, however, I live in Michigan. We have visited your area before and love it. Thanks for all of the ideas and inspiration!
