On the first day of Christmas,Beyond the Picket Fence did share,a cute, thrift store, red porch chair!

Oh goodness, I gave up the 12 Days of Christmas verses a few years ago. But, watch out, they are back!

This little thrift store chair cost me a whopping $1.99!!

Obviously, it is missing a back spindle, but I thought it was really cute and I was thrilled with the price.

A porch chair does not need to be sturdy so you can often find an inexpensive one that is not in great shape.

I gave it a light, quick hand sanding and then painted it red with Fusion Mineral Paint's Fort York Red.

When the paint was dry (you don't want pink snowflakes), I stenciled white snowflakes on the chair. I bought this snowflake stencil at Michaels a few years ago. HERE is a similar one.

I sprayed a clear coat on the chair to finish and protect the porch chair. I added a pair of cute, bitty children's ice skates, also purchased from the thrift store.

Other thrift store items include the mailbox, the fake tree, the Christmas balls in the enamel bucket.

I made the NOEL window last year (you can see the how-to HERE).

  1. This porch vignette is so sweet, I love it! The mailbox Christmas tree holder is genius, I have an old mailbox... guess what I'll be using it for?! Can't wait to see the rest of the projects!

    1. Thank you! I plant in the mailbox in the summer, and put fall branches in it in the fall.
