One week until the BIG day, are you ready? I am for the most part. I haven't done any Christmas baking yet, but that will happen this week. If you still have a few projects you hope to complete or a few gifts left to make or just want some inspiration for next year, I have a treat for you.
Today, I am teaming up with some of my favorite bloggers to bring you some last minute inspiration. We are sharing some NEW ideas with you and some favorite past Christmas projects. So, settle in for a long winter's perusing and enjoy!
I started with a reclaimed barn wood board that is about 10" x 16". I made a tape rectangle with two pieces of tape and placed it in the lower right corner. I pressed the edges down to seal it well, but because the trees are stenciled I was not worried about the paint getting under the tape.
Using Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencil, I stenciled several trees, eliminating the star. I made sure some were painted off the edge and that there were trees painted all around the taped off rectangle. Remember to hold your brush straight up and down when you stencil and pounce.
I then painted over some of the trees a second time to make them more prominent and in the foreground. I hand-lettered peace in the rectangle and added dot snowflakes.
Your new Christmas tree sign is darling! Leaving room for an ever changing message is genius!
ReplyDeleteAnd yup yup yup... it was so fun glancing over all my favs of yours once again! I think I'll just reach in and grab that pallet wood barn door for my porch with adorable wagon, thanks... swoon.
Thank you Donna, we do have fun, don't we?!
DeleteBecky everything you make for Christmas is amazing! I love your new Christmas tree project, you seem to have a never ending supply of great wood! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan! Yes, I am blessed with a great supply of wood and when I think I am running low, I seem to be blessed with a new stash.
DeleteThe school house windows with the wreaths, awesome!! And of course all your projects too. Even Disney World copies you.... I took a cell phone pic of a bench at Animal Kingdom that looks like you made it for them. I will have to send it. Merry Christmas to you Becky!
ReplyDeleteHaha, that is funny! Yes, our original windows are not very efficient, but I love them. The glass is wavy in them, you can't replace that!
DeleteI agree with Bliss your windows are perfect to decorate! I love your new snow scene sign and the ribbon star is so timeless! Great post.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carlene. Yes, the star has been my most copied (without credit) project. Ho-hum!
