I am making the jump--the jump on to the painting my kitchen cupboards bandwagon.
I know, some of you are cringing right now, but hear me out. Our cupboards are stained cherry--they are NOT cherry wood, but cherry stain. They are too red and too formal and too not me.
The previous owners liked pink. We have pink counters and pink carpeting and a pink painted backsplash. And...no, just no.
So, after I finish removing the not so lovely brass handles, I will be filling the handle holes with bondo. I am excited to use Fusion Mineral Paint to paint them. And then, drumroll,
I will be painting the lowers in Midnight--a deep navy blue.
And, I will paint the uppers in Putty.
I am excited and scared. I am starting with my pantry (which will be midnight). I will be sharing afters next week, stay tuned.
Oh I can hardly wait to see the finished product. You are one brave lady! The cabinets look nice in the pictures but I am not a fan of dark wood cabinets either. When we built our house about 40 yrs. ago I had dark stained cabinets....after just a few years I hated them. So when we remodeled I got white!!! So much more cheerful. Good luck...hope they turn out just the way you want them.
ReplyDeleteWe had dark wood cabinets in our last house - I lived with them for three years before I dove in and painted them white. It was a huge job but after I finished I finally liked my kitchen! So worth the effort!
ReplyDeleteI love your colors! We are starting next month on navy blue lowers and white uppers I have not had a good response to my color choice:/ happy painting!!
ReplyDeleteGo for it!!
