Coat hooks are ALWAYS a popular item in my booth. I decided to make a few of them today. The first one I will share started with a couple boards (28" long) that I spied in my scrap bin.
A few more scraps and I had a coat hook and shelf.
The routered edge inspired me to create this because I thought it would be a good "ledge" for the shorter vertical boards.
I attached these with screws (because I am out of the correct sized brad nails) from behind.
I added a lightweight pallet board for a top shelf. After sanding, I painted the inside boards some of my favorite colors--sunny yellow, aqua, light green, and red.
I sanded quite a bit of the paint off when it was dry and then after adding hooks, stained the whole shelf.
A clear coat sealed and finished the project. These shelves are great in an entry, a kids room, a bathroom and are fun to make.
Gorgeous! The different paint colors look amazing!
