I love mixing patterns and trying different color combinations. It is a perfect way to add interest and color to a neutral background and it shows that a person really understands design and style. So when I spied this pillow and this plaid, wool scarf at the thrift store I thought they would be perfect together.

Remember to check out scarves at the thrift store. The blanket style scarves like this wool J. Crew one make nice throws for a chair or bench, work as table runners or dresser scarves, or can be tied around a throw pillow.
