Pink Coming in Hot

If you haven't noticed, PINK is coming in hot this spring, in both home decor and clothing. I have seen so much of it--a lovely blush pink.

I decided I needed a few blush pink items in my booth for spring. This sweet little 1930's end table was the first thing I painted

pink color trend for spring 2018

Blush Pink End Table
I mixed up this pink, using mostly white, bright pink, and some yellow paint to give it a warm quality.  I would say I used a cup of white paint, two tablespoons of bright pink, and one tablespoon of bright yellow. This table is the type that had been stained in the thirties and forties with a mahogany colored stain that loves to bleed through furniture. I sprayed the end table with clear spray first.

I then painted it with white primer and sealer and then with two light coats of the pink.
A little sanding on the edges and a clear coat finished the table. I love it next to this grey chair and my grey wall, but she is headed to my antique booth tomorrow.

If you want to add pink to your decor this spring, thing small--side tables, pillows, frames, baskets, etc. It is a great way to have a bit of a color trend without going hog wild.
