1 Old Cupboard+Reclaimed Wood=2 Cut & Colors

What do you get when you put together an old kitchen upper cupboard and some reclaimed wood?  Why, two "free" cut and colors from my hairdresser of course.

I have done a few other pieces for my hair girl.  She moved into a new space and needed a very specific sized counter for storage.  I started with an old kitchen upper cupboard from Habitat For Humanity.  This piece needed to be very narrow so an upper cabinet was the key to getting that.

I painted it French Linen and Old Ochre from ASCP. I addded a reclaimed wood top that I painted so it wasn't too rustic for the salon.  It looks uneven here because I need hubby's muscle power to get a couple screws all the way screwed in.  I attached the top through the top of the inside cupboard into the bottom of the counter top wood.

I put reclaimed oak paneling across the back,

and a shelf with some quarter round trim across the open bottom spot.

Big, chunky handles and hooks give this piece a shabby, industrial feel.

The end cupboards have three shelves in each of them--lots of storage!

I also added locking casters, which you of course can't see here in the grass.  This piece had some challenges, but my hairdresser was happy with the results, as was I and I am thrilled to get my grey colored soon!
