These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things, 2014 Edition

These are a few of my favorite things--you just sang that or are now humming the tune, right?  I know I am, but that is ok, it is from one of my favorite movies.  

Another favorite project from this past year was this reclaimed wood bench.

I have made lots of benches, but I was so happy the way the colors on the wood slats looked next to the wood apron sides and legs.

The bench strikes up the perfect balance between rustic, the wood and fun or funky, the bright colors. It helped me to better define what style I like for my own home, fun rustic or spunky lodge like my Christmas theme this year.

    I'm still wondering how you attached the brace piece in between the legs? Was it with a long wood screw? Help please! I love it. I want to make one.
