There are some of the nicest antique dealers at The Antique Barn in Gallatin Gateway where I have a booth. And when one sweet dealer said she just couldn't do anything with this trunk and asked if I wanted it, I said yes please.
She was willing to give it to me, but I traded an old medicine cabinet mirror I had for the vintage luggage. I loved the wood pieces on this.
The inside was stained a bit, but not smelly, so I painted it. I glued wood blocks in the corners to secure casters to.
Locking casters were added to make it a bit taller and give it a bit of an industrial feel.
I found some free printable vintage luggage tags online and decoupaged those on the top and one on the side.
It makes a perfect coffee table with storage or would look great at the end of a bed!
Love it. I have an old suitcase similar to that. Its the bottom one in the stack of suitcases I use for extra storage in the guest room. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love the wood and metal corners on it.
