Hall Tree Makeover

When the college kid brought home this hall tree from a friend's storage unit,
before picture of a hall tree
I knew a quick makeover could update it.

makeover an old hall tree with paint and reclaimed wood
It probably had some type of tray in the bottom for umbrellas, but that was missing and there was a piece of plywood on the bottom. I removed the front spindles with a jigsaw to get rid of the cage look and to gain access to the bottom shelf.

I painted the hall tree with one lovely coat of Fusion Mineral Paint in Azure--ONE coat y'all!

add brightly painted pallet boards to upcycle a hall tree
I added pallet wood boards to the bottom shelf, placing them on top of the plywood and on the top covering the holes. I painted them a variety of bright colors and then sanded quite a bit of it off.  I stained them with Minwax's Early American.  I painted and stained them before attaching them with screws from the underside.
add hooks to a hall tree for coats and bags
I also replaced the broken hooks with two new hooks.
add a pop of color to an entryway with a fun boho style hall tree
This is one of those easy makeovers and I love the pop of color it adds to an entryway.

  1. Totally love it! You have a magic touch. If furniture makeovers was a category on AGT, you'd get the golden buzzer!

  2. Those colors are so pretty together! What a great makeover!

    1. Thank you Mary, these bright colors really our my favorites!

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate your kind words!
